Give Backpackers go to Uganda!

It's time for the Give Backpackers to embark on another purposeful journey to faraway lands, this time to work with an organization in Entebbe, Uganda!The founder, a young woman named Angel, created Destiny Wings as a way to give back to her own community -after becoming the only child in her large family to receive an education. They help run a school, dance groups and sporting teams to help kids not only become educated but also feel inspired and thrive in team building environments so they too can become leaders of their community.
We asked Angel what would be the most beneficial, sustainable initiative that Give Backpackers could help create. After many months of discussion, Angel suggested a Sewing Program. With a detailed financial plan, Angel has also put together a system to help teach children how to sew their own uniforms, and help women create business opportunities for themselves and generations to come. This is not simply giving a foreign community resources; but rather empowering them to provide long lasting education and change for themselves.
With your help, we can boost the local economy by purchasing sewing machines and materials while there, documenting the entire process with our movie team and posting updates along the way! We begin the adventure November 2nd, 2019.
