Giving Back to Neil - A Man Who Has Given So Much to Others

Many of you will know Neil Collie.

Whether it's stopping for a chat, shouting someone a coffee, lending a hand when times are tough, or supporting people through the Silverfox Initiative, Neil has always been someone who quietly shows up for others.

Today, we're asking our community to show up for him.

Neil has recently been diagnosed with serious lung disease and is now facing a long road of specialist appointments, testing and treatment, including a lung biopsy in Brisbane. Everyday tasks that most of us take for granted have become incredibly difficult, with severe breathlessness and fatigue impacting nearly every aspect of life.

For someone who has spent his life caring for others, including his work in aged care, this has been a difficult reality to face.

As many of you know, Neil isn't someone who asks for help. In fact, he'd probably be uncomfortable knowing this page exists. But those who know him also know just how much he has given to our community over the years.

This fundraiser has been created to help ease some of the financial pressure while Neil focuses on his health and recovery, and to support Sharon as they navigate the challenges ahead together.

Funds raised will assist with:

• Medical travel and specialist appointments

• Treatment and health-related expenses

• Fuel and accommodation costs when travelling for care

• Everyday living expenses while Neil is unable to work

• Providing some breathing room during an incredibly challenging time
