Meet Evy.

She’s the kind of person who shows up without hesitation when someone’s in need — offering support, compassion, and help without expecting anything in return. But right now, Evy needs our help.

Evy lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a complex and painful condition that affects her joints, connective tissue, and overall health. There’s no cure for EDS, and treatment options are limited — specialized physiotherapy, pain management, and regular scans and infusions are essential but incredibly expensive. And that’s if you can even access them.

Living in Northern BC, Evy faces extra challenges. Local medical resources are limited, and most treatments require travel to larger cities like Prince George, Terrace, and even Vancouver — trips that are physically taxing, financially draining, and often emotionally overwhelming. Evy and her husband have had to sleep in their car or a small trailer just to save money while she gets care. He takes time off work to drive her because she can’t make the trips on her own — and more appointments and another possible brain surgery are still ahead.

She has waited three years just to get into a pain management program — a wait that speaks volumes about the gaps in our healthcare system, especially in rural areas. Evy doesn't ask for much ever, but she deserves to be able to access the care she needs without the added stress of whether she can afford gas, food, or a place to rest during treatment.

This is where we can step in — for someone who would do it in a heartbeat for any of us.
