Give back to Cathy, the ultimate giver

Hi, My Name is Jaime-Lyn Jackson, and I'm reaching out today to support my dear friend and colleague Cathy Sahaluk. As some of you may know Cathy lost her husband of 46 years on September 24, 2024. With his passing, Cathy could use our help in getting her on her feet financially while she navigates this most difficult time. As Cathy said, It is incredibly hard watching someone you have spent over 46 years with take their last last breath.

To add to that new reality, Cathy finds herself in an uncertain circumstance financially with John's passing, confronting some very unexpected expenses on top of the ones that go along with losing a family member.

Cathy has a larger then life history growing up in Calgary. She is 1 of 6 Bush children, known to be the ultimate sports family (with roots in Skating, hockey, fastball, basketball, softball). Her mother was Norma Bush who has an arena named after her in NW Calgary to honour her dedication to sport and community-

It would seem that Cathy gained her volunteer spirit through her mother. She has given countless hours within the Skate Canada community and has been recognized as someone who continually goes above and beyond- Just this past week, she was the Ice Operations Lead for the ISU adult competition hosted here in Calgary! Her contributions are too many to even begin to list. Even with her giving nature, Cathy would never ask for help, even though she is in need right now.

We as her large extended family and friends can come together to support Cathy while she grieves, giving her some room to breath and not have to worry about her financial circumstances.
