Give Back: Help Veterans Live Comfortably

Branches Home for Veterans was started by Mrs. Modell McKenzie. Mrs. McKenzie & Mr. McKenzie built this home from the ground up for our veterans. They wanted our military heroes to have a beautiful home to live in as a thank you for your service. Mrs. Modell McKenzie worked as a social worker for more than 20 years, and Mr. Alfred McKenzie did 24 years in the Army and retired in 2011. Branches Home for Veterans currently takes care of veterans with little to no family support. The home houses ten veterans.

The reason why we are doing this fundraiser is to get support from the community to pay off the home's current mortgage, freeing up resources to be able to provide more resources to the veterans. This home was opened in 2019, and since that time, we have received many more referrals asking to take care of more veterans. Branches Home for Veterans' goal is to pay off the current mortgage and expand the home by adding on three additional bedrooms and two baths. In order to get this done, we need the support of the community to help pay off the home's current mortgage and hopefully have enough to be able to add the additional space that is desperately needed in this area. Branches Home for Veterans will have a board overseeing the funds raised by this push for support from the community. The reason for this board is to be good stewards over the funds, making sure the funds are going toward what they were intended to.
