Hi I'm Anna Semlyen, 30 years a transport activist. Author of traffic reduction practical guide Cutting Your Car Use. An easy read guide in the Green Books series. With cartoons by Axel Sheffler.
Due to the urgent Climate Emergency I aim to pitch a digital give away free edition of Cutting Your Car Use to ALL motorists. To the Department for Transport via DVLA emails. Radical and possible.
Why? Oil demand is 27% for private car driving. Approx 60% of its mileage is avoidable if drivers/councils/companies could think and pursue other options. Plus its safer and less polluting at lower speed limits.
Book background. First published 2000, last updated 2012 with editions in Welsh, USA and ebook. Sold 145,000 copies bulk buy to councils/compaines mainly as give aways in Green Books series. Austerity kicked in and councils ran out of money.

How will donations be spent? Project steps include.
- Spread the idea widely. Social media, applications to grants. FB posts, twitter, make a promo video.
- Organise a mass letter to the press/gov stating the goal - emailing drivers traffic reduction education e.g. The Times with backing from as many organisations/ famous folk / politicians w. climate/transport wisdom and fame
- Pitch to those with power re use of email lists of drivers.
- Train fare or zoom meet with the Dept for Transport and DVLA about the practicalities of updating and emailing it.
- Cash to pay to work with a book publishing to update the book. (Green Books lead John Clift retired)

Who am I? Transport activist / yoga teacher (British Wheel of Yoga specialist on Back Care) and author living in York. In 1992 I was injured seriously as a cyclist by a give way offender. I joined transport campaigns. My former roles were
