Help Athena Get the Cardiac Care She Needs.
Athena is more than just my dog — she’s my partner, my service dog, and my best friend. She was diagnosed with a heart murmur about a year ago. Recently, during an emergency vet visit, we discovered concerning changes involving her heart, including an arrhythmia and enlargement on one side of her heart. These changes paired with her grade 2 murmur called for her veterinarian to refer us to a cardiologist for a full cardiac workup to determine exactly what’s going on and what her future may look like.
Her upcoming appointment on June 30th at UTCVM includes an echocardiogram, cardiac testing, monitoring, and any additional diagnostics the specialists believe are necessary. Right now, the estimated cost for her visit alone is already upwards of $1,800, and depending on the results, she may require ongoing treatment or even heart surgery in the future.
Athena is still young, happy, and full of life. She loves working, training, dog sports, and being by my side every single day. I want to do everything possible to give her the best chance at a long, healthy life. I can’t imagine a life without her. She’s only 3 years old.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep Athena in your thoughts, it would mean the world to us. Every contribution will go directly toward her cardiology care, diagnostics, treatment, and any future medical needs related to her heart condition.
Thank you for supporting Athena and helping me fight for her health.
