Update: 11/25
Hey everyone, we want to thank you all for your donations! These has truly helped us a lot in this unexpected event. Atari has been recovering slowly every day. She has been showing signs of feeling on her hind legs and tail. She has normal bowel movements and starting to urinate on her own. She still has a long road of recovery. We will be doing water therapy soon once she gets more feeling. We appreciate any and every donation that is given to us

Update: 11/22
Hi everyone, It’s me Atari. Mommy just picked me up from the hospital. I am so happy to be going home. I miss my brother and my comfy bed. Everything has been a blur, but I had my surgery 2 days ago and I am doing a lot better. I am still hurting a bit but nothing I can’t take, I am tough. Whatever the doctor did is helping, I can feel my right side again and I can see my tail but I’m not sure what is happening with it, I’m sure it will get better with time (that’s what mommy said).
I am having some trouble peeing, but mommy has been helping me with that. Mom is making me eat pumpkin (yuck) but she said it should help me poop (hopefully). I overheard the doctor say I still have a long road ahead to recover, something about a kennel (idk).
Mommy was telling me about all the people that have sent her love and support, thank you so much. I am back to give them love, but they could still use your support because I am going to be taking up theirs.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Atari.

Story: 11/20
Hi, my name is Atari, I am 3 years old. Some of you might know me from modeling for Pupsnbows. I really appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. My mom and dad were blindsided by this.

Three days ago, I was totally healthy (or so I thought). I am tough, I know I was fine, I was playing with my brother, eating, jumping, just enjoying life.
On Monday, things started to hurt. Mom couldn’t pick me up without me whining, I couldn’t stop shivering in pain. That night they took me to the emergency room. Doctors said I LOOKED fine, that I possibly had a sprain in my shoulder. They prescribed rest and pain medication. This was the best possible outcome, my mom and dad hoped this would help me.
Tuesday was a blur, I was on pain medication that kept me calm, I ate and pooped which made my mom hopeful. But things took a turn for the worse, I stopped using my back legs, my neck was stiff, and my whining and wheezing got worse. I was in a lot of pain. My parents rushed me to the emergency room that night. They did tests (bloodwork) and took pictures of my bones (x-rays) while my parents waited in the car.

My mom’s fear came true. I have IVDD. This is a neurological condition that affects a dog’s spine and can cause pain, paralysis and other dysfunction. The emergency vet told my parents to take me to a Neurologist. That’s where I am right now. They took more pictures (MRI) and testing confirmed I have no feeling on my right side (hind leg). They said something about surgery. I’m scared.

If you could offer any help, it would mean everything to me and my parents. I know my parents are going to do anything they can for me, but your support could help my parents take care of me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Atari.
