My mom is in urgent need of an eye operation called Multifocal Surgery. The operation will correct her vision after 40 years of wearing contact lenses; which her doctor has advised against wearing because they have grown irritating after almost half a life time of use. Financing the operation herself was always her plan, but after losing her federal teaching job to DOGE after 22 years, it is no longer a possibility. The surgery can only be done within a few years as it will not work on her eyes thereafter. In other words, time is of the essence. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards her surgery. Thank you for donating or sharing this! It means the world to me.
A word about my mother. She has given me everything as all mothers do instinctively; always giving from her ever-flowing waterfall of love, even in the hardest of times. As a single mother for the majority of my life, I never once felt like anything was missing. My sister and I wore contacts for a few years, not complaining much, but she knew of the burden it would become. She gave us both the gift of vision with Lasik surgery when we were teenagers.
I hope to return the love and kindness of my mother with the love and kindness of the universe. Thank you for everything Mom.
Sara
