Hello, my name is Henri. I’m 18 and currently spending part of my gap year in Arusha, Tanzania, where I’ve been training with a local youth football team—Satino Football Academy.
On my first day with them, one thing was obvious: the dedication is enormous, but the equipment is almost nonexistent. Around 60 players train every day on a rough dirt pitch full of cracks. Their goals have frames but no nets. Most of their balls are flat. They run drills with worn-out construction cones. And the footwear situation is the hardest to watch—many players share a single pair of cleats or train in running shoes because their studs have been worn down to nothing on the dirt.
These players don’t lack commitment or talent. They lack the basic tools to train safely and compete properly.

Our goal is to raise $1500 CAD, which stretches extremely far in Tanzania. With that, the academy will be able to fix nearly every equipment issue they face:
• Training cones (50 pack) – 50,000 TZS
• Two proper nets for the goals – 120,000 TZS
• Durable, match-quality balls – 70,000 TZS each
• Cleats for players – 50,000 to 80,000 TZS per pair
All equipment purchased will stay with the club and be used by the entire team. Cleats will be reserved for weekend grass matches so they don’t get destroyed on the dirt pitch.
A relatively small amount of money from back home can create a massive difference here. You’re directly helping young players train safely, play properly, and grow with the opportunities they deserve.
Note on withdrawals: This fundraiser is set up in Canada, so the funds will be withdrawn into my Canadian bank account and then used directly here in Tanzania to purchase the equipment listed above. This is the standard process for GoFundMe when the organizer is abroad. Every dollar withdrawn goes straight toward the cones, nets, balls, and cleats for Satino Football Academy.
Thank you for supporting Satino Football Academy.
