Give Anna the Farewell She Deserves

I’m Elsa Galeano, and I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of my nephew, J.R. (Anna’s son). I knew Anna for over 25 years.

To have known Anna is to have loved her. Her smile lit up every room she entered, and she was always the life of the party. She was always laughing, always joking, and made it her personal mission to have a good time everywhere she went. She loved being silly and was endearingly nicknamed Anna Banana by those closest to her. Beautiful, helpful, creative, outspoken, and gifted with the heart and roar of a lion, her passionate and vibrant spirit was tragically taken from this world entirely too soon.

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, Anna was senselessly attacked in a public setting, with bystanders too afraid to help her. She suffered through a horrific assault and then the unknown assailant fled the scene. She endured a life-flight to the hospital while medical personnel tried their best to help, but she succumbed to the many injuries she sustained during the offense, and she passed away. She leaves behind three children, her youngest being only 6 years old. The assailant remains at large while her family desperately tries to get help from the police to seek justice for her. We were blindsided with this news, left with so many unanswered questions, trying to navigate through a nightmare that no one should have to withstand. My nephew, J.R., her next of kin, has been left with the responsibility of finding a way to cover the costs of a funeral and burial for his mother, a burden too big to carry on his own.

We are asking for help to cover the unexpected costs of a proper farewell, namely a casket, a memorial service, and a final resting place for Anna. Please help us to ease the financial burden that has been thrust upon my nephew, who is only 24 years old.
