A Roof for Ann Marie: Don’t Let Her Spend Christmas Under a Tarp
On October 28th, Hurricane Melissa—the strongest in Caribbean history—shattered the lives of thousands in Jamaica. While the news cameras have moved on, the nightmare is far from over for families in rural villages like Louisville, New Market.
Ann Marie Macloud is one of those left behind. When Melissa made landfall, the wind didn't just damage Ann Marie's home; it ripped the roof and windows out, taking her livelihood and her children’s stability with it. Today:
• Her children cannot go to school.
• Rainwater floods her floor because there is no structure left to hold a tarp securely.
• Toxic mold is spreading through the remaining walls, threatening her family’s health.
The "Stage 2" recovery hasn't reached Ann Marie yet. Without our help, she and her three children will spend Christmas morning sleeping under a leaking tarpaulin.
We have a simple goal: Get Ann Marie a roof and windows.
Your donation goes directly to the materials and labor needed to make this house a home again before the holidays. Let’s give Ann Marie’s children the gift of a dry bed and a safe Christmas.
