My name is Andrew Call. I used to play sports all day, every day. I used to jump, run, and leap into the air. I used to play sports, and most importantly, I used to feel free.
When I was 16, I tore my ACL two weeks before my first varsity football game, and ever since, I have never been the same. I tore my ACL a second time in only my second varsity game ever, and it took away my joy and freedom that I was hoping to get back. I could no longer jump, I could no longer run, be free, play with my younger brother, or exercise without sharp pain jabbing through my right knee.
I had a third ACL surgery. This time, a different surgeon used a graft from my left knee too, rendering me disabled for about 3 months until I could even walk without crutches, but the pain was unbearable. My surgeon had placed my graft the wrong way, and my new ACL graft became loose by about 8 extra millimeters.
When I found out, I was devastated and sick.
To this day, I am in constant pain, waiting for an opportunity to have my final surgery and forever fix my knee with a world-renowned surgeon who has agreed to perform a very complex knee reconstruction on me.
I beg of you to please donate. Not only will I be a healthy person again, you will give me strength and endless happiness and gratitude.
