This is our baby girl, Andie — our family’s guardian angel.
She’s protected my children, comforted us through hard times, and filled our home with love and laughter for seven years. Seven years ago, a tiny 10-week-old Belgian Malinois puppy named Andie was given to us by very dear friends— a gift we never knew would change our lives forever. From the start, she wasn’t just smart — she was brilliant. So intelligent, so stubborn, and so full of purpose that I sometimes wondered if I could keep up with her.
Andie has always needed to be needed. She isn’t happy unless she has a job to do — a reason to help, to protect, to love. So she became my running companion. She would run beside me for miles, pacing herself with my energy. She could somehow feel when I had more to give and would urge me to keep going… and when I was tired, she’d slow down and gently lead me home.
When we go hiking, she leads the way — but she always stops, turns around, and watches each of us pass, like she’s counting to make sure her whole pack is safe. Only when we’re all accounted for does she run back to the front. If my kids go swimming, she’ll jump in (even though she hates water!) and swim alongside them. If she senses they’re getting tired, she grabs them gently and pulls them toward shore.
Andie’s motivation has never been food — it’s always been her ball. She carries it with her all day, every day, just in case someone might want to play. And if you won’t play with her, she’ll toss it herself, bouncing it off walls and catching it mid-air. Even after surgery, she’s fallen asleep with her ball still in her mouth — it’s her comfort, her joy, her identity.
Andie has always been able to feel time. She knows when it's time to eat. She comes to get me and takes me to the kitchen at the same times everyday.
When my kids were little, she woke each of them up at just the right time — never all at once, but exactly when each was supposed to be up. When I dropped my older kids at school, she’d go lie next to my youngest and stay there, perfectly still, until I came home.
Last year, Andie proved once again just how extraordinary she is. A robber broke into our home while my youngest daughter was there alone.. Andie stood between the intruder and my child — The man even tried to throw her a piece of steak from our fridge, she refused it, continuing to growl, bark, and warn him to leave. When he advanced toward my daughter’s room, Andie advanced towards him, chasing him out of the house. Andies only concern was our daughter’s safety.
That’s who she is.
Brave. Loyal. Loving.
Even now, in pain, she still takes care of us. She keeps our new puppy, Lilo, in line — growling gently if she gets too close to food or breaks the “house rules.” She makes sure everyone behaves, even me. If anyone raises their voice or starts to argue, Andie rushes over and licks their mouth until they stop — her way of restoring peace in the family
Andie has given her whole heart to us. Every single day, she checks on her family, one by one. Every night, she visits each of my kids beds for a few minutes of cuddles before returning to her own bed next to mine.
I can’t imagine my life without her.
Andies hip is coming out of the socket and needs a hip replacement to live the happy, active life she deserves. Without it, her pain will only worsen, and we risk losing her far too soon. The surgery costs $8,000 — an amount that I simply can't come up with on my own, so I am asking for help.
Every donation, every share, every kind word brings Andie closer to running, fetching, and living pain-free again.
Please help us..
She’s given us everything — her loyalty, her love, her protection.
She deserves the chance to keep living the life she loves, by our side, where she belongs
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for caring about our girl.
❤️ With love and gratitude,
The Bradman's
