Hi, i’m Jen! I’m currently volunteering at Almo Daycare in Arusha, Tanzania teaching a group of beautiful, bright kids how to read and write in English. There are about 50 kiddies aged between 1 and 6 and while their energy, joy and curiosity are incredible, the space they learn in is far from ideal.

Right now, the daycare classrooms don’t have proper roofs, they’re tin and still open on the sides. During the rainy winter season, the rooms have been cold and water has been getting in. With summer just around the corner, they’re only going to become unbearably hot.

To fix this, the plan is to fully plaster over the tops of the classrooms to provide proper coverage and protection.

I’ve started this fundraiser to help create a safer, more comfortable space for the kids to learn and grow because they truly deserve better!

Every cent raised will go directly toward building a roof and improving the classroom’s basic infrastructure. Anything left over will be spent on school supplies and food.
