Help Allie Have Eyebrows With Alopecia
My sister, Allie Burkhardt, is one of the strongest and most beautiful people I know—inside and out. Nearly eight years ago, during their sophomore year of college, Allie lost all of their hair, including their eyebrows and eyelashes, to Alopecia Universalis, an autoimmune condition. Since then, Allie has faced several other autoimmune conditions. Watching Allie face the grief, trauma, and identity changes that came with this was heartbreaking, but Allie met it all with courage, faith, and grace.
Several years ago, Allie chose to have microblading, a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo that helped Allie feel more like themself and relieved the daily stress of drawing on eyebrows. Over time, the microblading has faded, and Allie would like to have it done again.
Allie shared that losing their eyebrows was the hardest part of alopecia. While Allie is confident in their own skin, having eyebrows helps Allie look and feel most themself.
Right now, Allie is going through a difficult season. Allie is job hunting, seeking care for cPTSD, and hoping to pursue teaching, including teaching music and yoga as healing avenues for themself and others.
Because of this, the cost of microblading isn’t something Allie can take on right now.
If you’re able, would you consider donating—even $5—to help Allie get have eyebrows microbladed again? Every bit of support means so much. Thank you for helping ease Allie on their journey.
