A Plea for Alf: Fighting for His Life
Our beloved family member Alf, Jesus and Cynthia’s cherished dog, is in the fight of his life. What started as an ordinary day turned into a nightmare when Alf was found in the backyard with a poisonous toad in his mouth. Within moments, he began foaming at the mouth before collapsing. In a desperate race against time, he was rushed to Banfield Pet Hospital, where he received urgent medical attention.
Alf was seen by doctors, but his condition took a heartbreaking turn for the worse that same night. He currently remains in critical condition since February 25, 2025—hooked up to IV fluids, struggling for each breath inside an oxygen chamber, receiving plasma transfusions in a desperate bid to keep his heart beating.
Alf has been diagnosed with Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, a life threatening condition where widespread blood clotting occurs and leads to both excessive clotting and bleeding. If left untreated, Alf’s organs will fail and he will ultimately die.
Alf has been a part of this family since 9/21/2018, bringing endless love, laughter, and companionship. If you know Jesus, you know that Alf is more than just a pet—he’s his best friend, his shadow, his heart. Jesus would move mountains to keep Alf by his side, and right now, that’s exactly what we are trying to do.
We refuse to give up on him. But the mounting medical expenses are overwhelming as we continue to fight for Alf’s survival, with each day resulting in thousands of dollars of new expenses. We are asking—pleading—for any help to give Alf the chance he so desperately deserves. Every prayer, every donation, every bit of support means the world to us. Simply sharing this post with friends, co-workers, and family could make the difference to give Alf one more day of treatment.
