Hi, my name is Alex Espada.
I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this, but life has taken a difficult turn. I’ve been dealing with a series of serious medical challenges that have completely changed how I live.
It started with Type 1 diabetes. Then, I suffered a detached retina that left me blind in my left eye. Not long after that, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), which has since progressed into a severe and debilitating form called CCPD (Chronic Progressive Disease). Unfortunately, there is no cure.
As if that wasn’t enough, I also lost about 30% of the hearing in my right ear due to an abscess. Between the vision loss, hearing impairment, and the effects of MS, everyday tasks have become incredibly difficult.
I now receive IVIG treatment every three weeks for three days at a time, in hopes of slowing the progression of this disease. Despite this, I still experience frequent falls and severe balance issues. I’ve already sustained multiple injuries from these falls, and I live with the constant fear of getting seriously hurt.
My home is no longer a safe environment. It desperately needs renovations to make it handicap-accessible—things like ramps, grab bars, bathroom modifications, and safer flooring—so I can move around more safely and avoid further injuries.
The financial burden has become overwhelming. My medical bills, treatment copays, and doctor visits are nonstop. This GoFundMe is to help cover those growing medical expenses and fund the renovations that will allow me to live with some stability and dignity.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference. Even just sharing this with others helps more than you know.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support.
– Alex all funds received go toward making my home safe and to lower cost of some improvements i can do by myself with help from friends and family making my mobile home handicap accessible and safe
