Smudge was born in Coastal Cat Rescue's care with her mom and siblings and had a pretty uneventful kittenhood. Yesterday, when her foster mom went to feed her and her siblings, all the kittens came running except for Smudge. Her foster mom went over to see what was up with her and when she picked her up, she felt hot to the touch, and when she put her down, Smudge was unable to stand or walk. Off to urgent care they went, where Smudge was found to have a dangerously high fever, so she was immediately whisked off to Angell Memorial where she was admitted and still remains.

Smudgy is a sweet 10 week old kitten with big fat mittens (polydactyl) and a black "smudge" on her face. She is super sweet and loves her sister Winnie. Smudge has been a happy go lucky kitten with no issues until this past weekend.

We are doing everything to help Smudge, but as you can imagine, the bill is climbing, and we are at about $4000 to date. Her labs are coming back unremarkable with no clear cause, so we are still searching. They have gotten her temp down, but Smudge still can't walk; she is extremely wobbly and unstable. We need help covering these expenses. If anyone can help Smudge, we would greatly appreciate it. No amount is too small; give a smidge to help Smudge.
