Give a Monk his Smile Back
Donation protected
My name is Adam David, and for 18 years I have been an ordained Buddhist monk in the Palyul Nyingma tradition, ordained by H.H. Penor Rinpoche. I recently relocated to the East Coast to be closer to our temple and my teacher, Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo Rinpoche. Because Buddhism is so new to the west, there is no infrastructure to financially support monks. For many years I worked and made my own way. Now I am older, my ability to work is limited, and I need some help. I don't have any income other than Social Security. This only covers part of my living expenses. Currently I need extensive dental work . It impacts my food choices, not to mention my smile. If not addressed now, this will soon lead to more health problems.
My days are spent in service to the temple, Kunzang Palyul Choling. which is open 24 hours a day to everyone. We have an ongoing prayer vigil, where for the last 33 years we have had someone praying 24/7 for the end of suffering for all beings. Your prayers can be included as well. Just email: [email redacted]
As much as I wish this wasn't the case, I'm in need of your help. The amount I'm requesting only covers the dental expenses. Anything raised over will go to living expenses.
It is taught in our tradition that to help an ordained person brings infinite merit to the donor. That is true for any religious renunciate. I hope that any help you are able to offer me will return to you a hundred-fold in this life and always. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
