Hello everyone! My name is Kai Lively, and I’m the owner of The Biddle Store. We're a Black-owned thrift store in the heart of Mt. Vernon, run by a small group of artists & HBCU students, as well as myself. The Biddle began two years ago as a memorial to friends & family who've passed away & to a special time in the Baltimore Art/Music scene. We’ve all had the privilege of watching The Biddle blossom into a community gem.
We serve as:
⁃ A resource center & safe space for vulnerable/houseless community members
⁃ A hub for sustainable fashion
⁃ Community center for students to discuss art, fashion, interests, etc.
- A donation center to redistribute clothes & other items
But it's been difficult & costly building our space from the ground up so we need YOUR help raising funds! We've gradually slipped into a hole due to a series of unfortunate events that caused us to close such as our ceiling collapsing in November & most of our staff catching COVID in December. Any & all donations will go to paying operational expenses such as 2 months of back rent wifi, employee wages, repairs, maintenance & renovations, etc.
Any donation helps! Please share and repost. We appreciate everyone that supports us in any way. Thank you all so much! ❤️
