The funds will use to pay her medical fee . Thank you for your attention.
An Bao was born with a disease called hydrocephalus. Her family sold everything they had to raise money for the 4 surgeries she would have in Vietnam. However, Vietnamese hospitals do not have enough resources to cure hydrocephalus, so the family had to raise money for her to go to Singapore. This would require An Bao to have an additional 3 more surgeries. A charity in Vietnam helped raise enough money for An Bao to have her surgeries in Singapore and her family was finally at ease. However, recently An Bao has been having constant fevers and doctors do not know what to do. The doctor diagnosed that she had a viral infection, and in order to treat that and her hydrocephalus, it would require more money. If they do not raise enough money, An Bao will return home to live her final days. We hope with this GoFundMe, you can be a part of An Bao’s journey, and help raise enough money for An Bao to finish her treatment and to go home to have a new life.
If you want more information about An Bao’s story:
The mother, Nin Le, had twin babies in Vietnam on April 13th, 2018. Usually giving birth would be a joyous day of celebration, but for Nin Le, she had to realize all the future troubles An Bao, one of her twin babies, would have to endure. When she was 6 months pregnant, the doctor said that one of twins was healthy, but the other baby had hydrocephalus. The mom had to decide to keep the twins, or abort them. It was a difficult decision, but she realized if she aborted the babies, it would mean she would have to kill the healthy twin. She decided to give birth to both twins. One was a healthy baby girl and the other, An Bao, had hydrocephalus as expected.
While Nin Le was pregnant, she had to start saving money for the future hospital bills she had to pay for An Bao. The family sold everything they had in Vietnam, and the father still goes to work in Viet Nam to try to support his family as much as he can. Trying to help, a charity in Vietnam raised money by raising money for 4 future surgeries that An Bao would have to go through.
However, Vietnamese hospitals do not have enough resources and technology to cure hydrocephalus, and resultantly, Nin Le and her husband decided to send An Bao to Singapore for treatment. There were many stories of other Vietnamese children with hydrocephalus and after going to Singapore they successfully cured their condition there. However, that would mean more money for the flights and Nin Le being thrown into a country where she knew no English. After they were able to raise enough money to go Singspore, everyday Nin Le had to get instant noodle bowls because she had to save all the money she had for An Bao. The charity helped raise more money because An Bao now needed three more surgeries in Singapore.
Everyone thought everything was going well but An Bao suddenly had constant fevers, and doctors were confused of the symptoms. The doctor stated, that in his 2 years of experience with curing children with hydrocephalus, he never seen this happen before had found out An Bao had a viral fungus. The doctor’s team had a plan to help cure the baby, but it cost even more money immediately. The mom currently does not have enough money to stay in the hospital any longer than she had planned to.
Now as a donator, I am asking for help for this 5 month old baby. If we cannot raise enough money for her, An Bao will be sent home to Vietnam home to live her last days. I am asking for your support, any amount we would be grateful for. Save the money from your potential purchase of that one coffee, pair of shoes, purse, to help support An Bao. We are trying to raise enough money as soon as September 9th to support An Bao so she is able to start her new life as a healthy baby back home with all her family. We are grateful and appreciative of your time to read though everything.
