Give a Kitten a Chance at Improved Mobility
Donation protected
I'm a vet tech in my mid-twenties with a kitten that was found paralyzed from the waist down on the side of a freeway. Her quality of life can greatly improve if she gets her paralyzed hind legs amputated. The problem is, even though I get a discount for being in the field, it will still cost me $8k. Not having the hind limbs would make her mobility easier on her front legs' joints. She may even learn to walk on two feet instead of dragging. The problem with dragging is that she gets sores from the rubbing. These sores can eventually turn into ulcers, which need to be amputated anyway.
Anything helps!
Edit: thank you all for your donations!!! I have found more clinics willing to do this operation for cheaper but they are out of state. One in San Diego has offered to do it for $2500! That’s way better than $8k. This brings me so much hope! Thank you for donating if you can!
Edit: bug is scheduled for April 9th! It cost $500 for hotels and plane tickets on top of the 2500 procedure. Still better than $8k!
