Hello everyone!

My name is Yousra Alshoubassi. I am a Palestinian residing in Rafah. I, along with my sister and brother were young, ambitious and successful businessmen/women starting our own dream of a small clothing/shoes shop in Gaza before everything was taken away from us in a blink of an eye! Our dreams shifted from having a beautiful career to simply wanting to leave this nightmare and to start over some place safe. And that’s the purpose of this GFM, as we are in desperate need of your help to evacuate to Egypt.

We have lost our home, jobs, and sense of security. We needed to flee several times and we ended up homeless and living on the streets with nothing except our clothes and a small tent. We have no access to medicine, water, or food. We are hungry, cold and getting weaker every day. Unfortunately, we are losing hope. You are the light that can guide us soon. You are our only hope to survive this.

I am a clinical pharmacist graduate. Goumana and Munir, my siblings are business administration and Lawyer graduates. This means that we have clear plans of what we will be doing and how we will fend for ourselves once we get a chance to evacuate.

To add more salt to the injury, the current costs of leaving Gaza and evacuating are too high. It costs around $5000 USD per an adult, plus up to $2000 USD to skip the line and be able to register the names for the evacuation process. That mounts to $17000. We will also need food, rent and medicine for the first couple months once we leave, which is why we chose our target as $20000.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 23-04-2024!!!

Unfortunately, we have very heartbreaking news. We knew that we lost loved ones, and our homes in Gaza because of this unfair and unjust war. But now it is confirmed that our stores have also been burnt out and completely destroyed. We lost shoes and clothes that worth more than $40000 USD! All gone in a blink of an eye.

Now we know we have nothing left for us in Gaza. Even if this war is to end, we will be homeless and have no income. Our losses will be impossible to cover. We need your help in relocating and starting over in Egypt. Our family need to have hope again.

We also have wonderful news, because of your support and donations, we were able to register the first three family members wanting to leave (Yousra, Goumana and Monir). We expect to leave to Egypt in the first week of May. First milestone is officially accomplished. But now we have to expand our efforts to help the rest of our family to evacuate. Mom, Dad, and our siblings and their children (9 more family members). We also need to worry now about renting a home for our family in Egypt, covering daily living expenses and so on.

First of all thank you for your supporting so far.

Like I mentioned before, we applied the money for evacuation to Egypt, for the forth of us, and after the ongoing closed of the border for 5 months now, we still have hope to leave at anytime

But life here is difficult and very expensive.

We had to leave the place in a tent, and now we moved to a nother place in a Nusitrat, in a shop.

The rent of the shop is highly cost, but we couldn’t find any cheaper place, even though it’s dangerous but we can’t afford much.

It cost 800$ a month

And food also is very expensive.

For a day at least, we need 200 sh (60$) only for food without rent .

We need 400$ a month for the internet and charging our phones.

Tottal needs 10,000 shekl a month.

Now in winter we don’t have clothes and blankets.
