Hi, I’m John, a dad to two incredible sons. One’s a college sophomore and a goalie chasing his hockey dreams, the other just started his freshman year and is finding his own path. Watching them grow into hardworking, passionate young men has been the greatest joy of my life.
But right now, I’m fighting hard to stay on my feet. I’ve been out of work for more than nine months, and despite applying and interviewing constantly, the search has been tough. I’ve recently landed a modest job in Connecticut, which is a step toward stability — but I’m still facing the loss of my home and need a little help to get us through this transition.
My oldest son goes to UConn, and we’d planned for me to have a place within commuting distance so he could stay with me to save on dorm costs. Without that, things get even harder. I’m not asking for much — just enough to secure a rental for a couple of months while I settle into the new job, rebuild some stability, and get our lives back on track.
As a dad, I’ve always tried to show my boys that when life knocks you down, you get back up and keep fighting. That’s what I’m doing now by turning to my friends, family, and anyone kind enough to lend a hand to help me make that next save.
Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, or even just sending good thoughts. Every bit of support — large or small — helps me keep pushing forward for them.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping this dad and his boys find their footing again.
