Give a Child a Voice

Hi, my name is Diana and I am a registered Speech-Language Pathologist in Canada with my specialty being in augmentative communication for nonverbal children. Additionally, I am a conscious communication consultant, author, speaker and spiritual teacher. In 2020 I was able to provide communication support virtually to non verbal children in orphanages in Uganda through corporate support. Recently, I have been invited by one of the Nepalese leading educators and school/orphanage founders to VOLUNTEER in Nepal and provide support to nonverbal children who have no access to any communication support which means they do not have a voice. Many of these children are in orphanages or are in remote schools. They do not have any basic communication and many are on the autism spectrum without communication support or training available. I am looking forward to providing this aid to Nepal and relying on the support of my community through this GoFund Me campaign to cover the expenses for travel and to purchase some low tech communication devices to leave for these children (once there I have personally arranged for my accommodations and local travel). Part of my role there will be to assess needs, provide systems, and do training to build capacity as the incidence of autism and nonverbal children is rising globally. I thank you for any support you can provide. A little goes a long way to providing a voice for nonverbal children in this developing country.
