My dad was a courageous man. He always loved people and was kind.

The morning of July 4th, he collapsed. My mom tried to revive him and the ambulance took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He and my mom were planning their annual summer trip to visit with relatives and get out of their small town. They were going to visit my sister and Nephew in NM and drive to Cali to see me as well as a lot of other people on the way. They loved road trips.

In 2012, we lost my sister, Nadene.
In 2013, we lost my sister, Rosie. Her twin. Unexpectedly.
They would have been 33 this past May. For their birthday this year, we got their headstones installed.... we still haven’t finished paying them off.

This August would have been mom and dads 35th wedding anniversary. My mom said through tears today “I thought that if we could make it this far, we would definitely make it to 50.” And just continued to reminisce, talking with us about how she’s always going to hear his voice, knowing what he would say in every situation. Their dream was to retire together the summer of 2019, buy an RV and just travel visiting with family and friends. As well as to go back to Kenya, where they met and married to visit beloved family and friends there.
We are so broken and lost. He was the best father, husband, grandfather, brother and uncle to us all. He truly took care of everyone else. Always.

My dad grew up a poor man. He and my mom fell in love while she was in the Peace Corps & started a family. We moved to the states in 2001 with next to nothing but the hope in our hearts that this country would bring us a better life. We moved to the small town my mom grew up in. My sister Nadene fell ill in 2002, and got brain damage from meningitis... she was in our full care at home until she passed after 10 years. He was always taking care of us the best he could.

We as a family are struggling to cope with these losses and could really use your help covering these expenses. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
If you can, please help us. Anything helps. My mom doesn’t know I’m trying to raise money yet. I want to tell her when we get to $5000.

Sincerely,

His daughters, Susie & Ann and his wife, Connie.
