Hi, my name is Angelica and I am raising money to help my best friend Alana and her dog Girly Girl. As you may or may not be aware, Girly Girl is Alana’s daughter. She’s been apart of Alana’s life since she was 19 years old and it’s fair to say Alana has given Girly Girl the best life she could possibly as for.

Sadly on Tuesday night, Girly Girl took a turn for the worst. Alana come home from work and Girly Girl collapsed. Alana was able to get Girly Girl to regain consciousness and start breathing again, but it was an extremely scary moment for Alana as she thought she lost her bestest friend. Alana got Girly Girl to the vet where they had to sedate Girly Girl to see what was going on with her heart but unfortunately she had too much fluid in her chest and stomach that they could not even see the heart due to the excess amount of fluid. Girly Girl was rushed to emergency where she was put to sleep and the vet started to drain this fluid to see what the issue behind this all was. Due to 800mls of fluid built up in her tiny body, Girly Girl was not able to breathe properly as she had no room for oxygen to circulate in her body which is why she collapsed.

Once the vet had drained the fluid, it was sent for testing and come back that little Girly Girl has been diagnosed with lung cancer. This cancer at her age would mean removing a lung would not be an option as she would not survive on one lung and chemotherapy on Girly Girl will not be successful. The only option is Girly Girl continues to get the fluid drained from her body or she gets permanent draining tubes put inside her to hopefully reduce the amount of fluid that builds up.

Girly Girl could have this fluid built up quickly or hopefully she can fight this and it takes longer to return which means longer life span for beautiful Girly Girl.

Alana has spent a huge amount already on admitting her into the local vet, then into emergency and the procedures that were done on Girly Girl. Girly Girl would need permanent care eventually and another surgery conducted however Alana works full time and is an extremely hard worker who cannot continue to call in sick as she needs the funds to pay for Girly Girls health as that’s all that matters to Alana but on top of this Alana has a mortgage alone, bills, etc. Helping Alana fund Girly Girl and be able to take some time off work to care for her and perform another surgery on Girly Girl to give her the best life possible would take so much pressure off Alana. It’s unfair people need to choose between bills and their pets but I know Alana would always choose Girly Girl, so I am doing this to help her support Girly Girl and pay this vet debt she is faced with and continue to medicate Girly Girl, hospitalise if needed and fight this battle of lung cancer.

All help would be much appreciated and go such a long way for Alana and Girly Girl. She is so special to Alana and I know she would go to the ends of the world for her so I thought we could help her not have to do this alone.
