Girl’s Education in Ghana

Hello everyone,
Thanks to so many generous people donating to our previous GoFundMe campaigns, we have been able to support and champion girls all over the world.
Havana’s Rhymers are Readers #37books and Taylor’s Wrinkle in Time movie and book drive were started because we know that education is the most powerful weapon in the world. We know as Black girls that we are capable, powerful, and unstoppable.
We both want to be astronauts when we grow up and having a good education is a big part of that dream. However, our dreams are not just about us. Every girl around the world has the basic human right to an education.
Last year, we traveled to Ghana to meet 17 amazing girls at the St. Bakhita Orphanage in Ghana. With your help, we continued to support them from the United States by sending toiletries, books, school supplies, etc. throughout the year.
We are so excited to be able to return to Ghana in March 2020. This time we have partnered with KIDBOX and Delivering Good. Their mission is similar to ours and they believe that we can’t make the world strong if we leave people behind.
KIDBOX and Delivering Good have given us $15,000 in clothing for the girls at the orphanage so they can look their best going to interviews, meetings, school, and all kinds of important events. Watch the video below that tells you more:

We need to fundraise for our flights, visas, hotels, and food while we are in Ghana from March 15th-21st.
Our fundraising costs:
Round trip tickets for Havana/parent from Frankfurt, Germany: $1,000
Round trip tickets for Taylor/parent from Jacksonville, FL: $2,500
Food: $1,500
Hotel: $4,000
Visas for Ghana: $160 x 4
Transportation: $360
Total: $10,000
You can also support us by buying an UNSTOPPABLE shirt/hoodie where all proceeds will go towards our trip.
Any extra donations will be given to the St. Bakhita orphanage to go towards food, transportation, hygiene products, and other basic necessities.
