UPDATE 5/28/22:
We now have 17 girls in the program-twice the amount of our largest cohort of girls! We need to raise $30,709 more dollars to get our girls to Puerto Rico and Washington DC this summer. We have received generous donations to our passport drive and checks to cover other trips and expenses. To sponsor 1 girl, it is the cost of $1806.41 cents. We hope to count on your support.
Hi my name is Shevaun and I am the proud Founder and President of Girls Beyond, Inc. located in Albany, New York. On behalf of the Girls Beyond Inc board,I want to start by thanking all of our donors, partners and our many supporters for your contributions between 2019 and 2021 and we certainly look forward to your kind donations in 2022.

We could not have done any of the work we have continued to do without the investment of our partners, the funding of our generous donors and supporters all across the globe. Girls Beyond Inc. was started as a program to allow girls of color to think beyond their circumstance, think beyond traditional career paths and learn skills they will need to travel and to become global citizens. In collaboration with our partners and network, we have been honored to have provided over 100 community service hours, over 400 hours in personal and professional development and over 40,000 miles traveled domestically and abroad. This is all because of you.
2019 allowed us to apply our skills and knowledge learned through travel to New York City, Washington DC, and The Bahamas thanks to SATech Inc., Albany Med and all the individual donors who supported us. In 2020 and 2021, we did not stop empowering, engaging or inspiring our girls despite the challenges of the pandemic. We moved forward with virtual programming thanks to the donated laptops from Snap Inc. and CIS which ensured access. We focused largely on self-care and mental health in 2020 while still being able to expose our girls to careers in tech through a partnership with Vision Voice and Snap Inc. In 2021, we delivered workshops for our girls and career conversations in the arts, criminal justice, education and cybersecurity with no funding. We even created a New Orleans trip experience right here in Albany.
We also continue to connect our girls to resources and support to help prepare them for college. For the first time this year, we were able to provide book scholarships to our seniors to help with their post graduation plans due to the fundraising support of the employees at CIS.
We look to 2022 with optimism and hope to continue to provide the exposure and experiences that will allow our girls to have limitless dreams. We hope to expand our reach to additional girls from Albany High this year and engage them in cultural and educational exploration in Washington DC, Puerto Rico and New York. Your help in 2021 will ensure we can make all of this happen in 2022.
A donation of $25, $50 or $100 to Girls Beyond will help offset the costs of workshops, passports, travel and enrichment activities. Any amount is greatly appreciated. We know that with your help we can continue to lead these girls beyond their potential and beyond what is expected of them.
Thank you and have a safe holiday and a prosperous new year.
