Girl,Fight! 2017 Programming

On April 30th, 2017, 3 passionate educators: Mesha White, Morgan Latin, and Nalani Ortiz launched an incredulous mission to better the lives of Houston's young women.

All of us, at some point, teachers, who found that the work that we did outside of the classroom, was the leverage we needed to do our best work inside of the classroom. In other words, it was in learning who our students were at there core, what they needed, and what they were facing, that empowered us to reach and teach them most effectively.

It is the work that we've fallen in love with, and the work that our communities, specifically, our young girls, need.

Out of that need, Girl, Fight was born.

We are a blossoming non profit that has commited its leadership and resources to empowering economically disadvantaged girls ages 12-17 by cultivating their development of S.E.L.F. (Self Defense, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Fortitude)

On August 3rd and 4th we will have the time of our lives at our first annual Girl, Fight Summit, where we will usher 100 young women into the school year with hearts set to "Build their Queendom". Our goal, is to empower these young ladies by connecting them to powerful female minds and voices from across the country, including Dr. Julianne Malveaux, renown economist, speaker, and thought leader. Girls will experience 2 incredible days of self reflection, identifying their strengths, working through their challenges, and expanding their beliefs.

We envision a safe, exciting event where girls learn about themselves, learn from eachother, and carry their enlightened sense of self and purpose with them into the school year.

Of course, in order to see this event to fruition, we are praying for financial support from our friends, families and communities.

As stakeholders in our girls' futures we hope that you will find it in your heart to give to this important endeavor.

All donations will go directly towards ensuring that the Girl, Fight! summit is an exceptional event that will positively impact the lives of the young women we serve.

Here's a breakdown of the event costs:

$1,200- Flight and Accomodations for Keynote Speaker
