Gippsland Ouest Classique

I have organised a ride - the “Gippsland Ouest Classique” or West Gippsland Classic on the quiet country roads south of Loch in West Gippsland.

The ride is on Sunday 5 December 2021 starting at 9 am in Loch. Each rider is to donate to The Penguin Foundation. I have been visiting the island for more than 50 years with my first memories as a pre-teen and have always been drawn to its rugged coastline, quiet beaches and beautiful flora and fauna. I will declare an interest here; apart from the Foundation working to preserve natural wildlife on Phillip Island, my best mate and business partner, Michael Gatehouse, was Chairman of the Foundation when he passed away tragically and suddenly in September 2011. As it is the 10th anniversary of his passing I thought this would be a way of honouring the work that was important to him.
