Giovanna Aron

Giovanna has made a powerful imprint on our lives and will be missed but never forgotten. That is a sign of a true ANGEL. A dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter and loving friend to us all. When we think about Giovanna, we think about her honest laugh, strong will, loyalty, dedication, selflessness, humility, loving and thoughtful advice, and her unwavering compliments even when you felt you didn't deserve them. And most of all, her love of life and her family; Giovanna acknowledged often, everyday - there was no mistaking that she was a loving mother and wife. Which made us acknowledge our own lives, and be thankful of her daily reminder. And then there's Willie, a true love story. She gushed at the thought of him and melted at the sight of him. 

Giovanna was also a was a pioneer of the West Los Angeles Parents of Multiples support club, including being its state and local representative, and bereavement chairperson, taking care of families in the club going through bereavement. 

In the days ahead, by Jewish tradition, Giovanna's funeral will be this week. As our thoughts and prayers are with the family, we mourn together. Let us honor this woman of valor by letting the family mourn and us making the burden a little less, if that is even possible. Money will be donated directly to Willie Aron in Giovanna's honor to cover any expenses in the coming days and months.

My Dear Friends:
I am so sorry to be sharing this devastating, tragic news with you, but I must tell you that my beautiful wife of nearly twenty-five years, Giovanna Aron, has passed away. As some of you know, she was diagnosed with sarcoma - cancer of the soft tissue, bone, and muscle - in her right shoulder twenty-two years ago. She underwent chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation for nearly a year and was later pronounced cancer-free. She lived without the disease for over two decades, until it returned in the same place in January 2017. This time it was also in her right lung, small but of obvious concern.
She had a large tumor in her right shoulder that was removed on May 23, but returned rapidly and aggressively after she was hospitalized with a series of infections. The cancer has metastasized through both lungs, and she has lost consciousness. Her transition took place on November 10, 2018.
I have been madly in love with my wife since the day I met her in August of 1990, and it has been my honor to love and care for her all these years. We had many adventures, some bumps in the road, but always shared an indelible bond of love and friendship. She gave me the greatest gift in life when our incredible children, Isabella and Elijah were born. Telling them the news of their beloved mommy’s condition was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but they handled it with strength, courage, and love - the same traits their mother has had in abundance.
Despite my wife’s vibrancy, vitality, passion for life and gregariousness, she is also intensely private, and wished to safeguard many of you from this heartbreaking news. But because she loved so many people, and was so loved in kind, it became necessary to let everyone know. She will no longer be in the debilitating pain that she has valiantly endured for the past year or so. The children and I will mourn her passing deeply, but we will endure as the loving, tight-knit family that we are. At the moment, we are getting ready to say goodbye to her, and we wanted you who knew her and loved her to keep her in your thoughts and in your hearts.
There are simply too many friends and family members to thank for their love and support through this incredibly difficult time. Celia Kobritz Alpern and Renee Howdeshell have in particular been a constant source of comfort and strength whenever I have had to drop the kids off to them in order for me to attend to my wife’s illness. The rest of you have been my lifeline when I’ve needed a shoulder to cry on as well as a much-needed respite from the madness. 
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all so very much for loving the Aron family as much as you do, and I will be unashamedly reaching out to you for comfort and support in the days and weeks ahead.
