Giorgi’s Allergy Free Journey

Giorgi
It’s been six years that Giorgi has been struggling with allergies. Many of them unfortunately anaphylactic and life threatening. As challenging as it is to write this, tears are hard to hold back. I admit that the strongest one in this entire process has been Giorgi. Even after so many scares, hospital visits, ambulance rides, blood tests, skin infections, she’s the one who seems least affected and the one who stays the most positive. Even as she struggles, she sees the light. We have had her enrolled at the SoCal Food Allergy Institute since we found out about her allergies when she was three months old. After a year and a half of being on the wait list she started her treatments. It’s been over three years now. We’re blessed and fortunate to say that she’s worked through so many of her allergies. The system has worked. We are now half way through and have another three years of hard work and treatments. The only place to do this is in California. For over three years now, we fly every ten weeks for treatments. Unfortunately in addition to the cost of travel and lodge, insurance covers very little and close to nothing. Apparently anaphylactic allergies are not deemed serious enough to be covered. It doesn’t matter, we will continue to do it for her. Nevertheless, the reality is that this has been a financial challenge. A struggle at times. Needless to say, as parents, we’ll do what it takes and really have made big strides to make it work. With three years to go, we realize that some help would come a long way. Our remaining stride towards success and completion is our goal. We’re not stopping now. This would get us through the next three years. Help Giorgi continue to see the light in this ongoing challenge. We are as hopeful, just as she is, that she will be allergy free.
Thank you!!!
