Dear Friends and Family of Giordano Bros.,
We know this is an insanely challenging time that has been heart-wrenching for everyone, and sadly we are no different. For us, the hardest part of these unprecedented times has been letting our incredible staff go. They have become like family to us and to each other, as many of them have been with GBros. since the beginning, including folks who have been with us for years before the Mission location opened at our original North Beach location.
We’ve been open in the Mission for nearly 9 years now. This great accomplishment is in large part due to the incredible community we have created together. We’re extremely proud of this accomplishment and hope to continue to build on the memories that we’ve created each year with our clientele, staff and neighbors.
Initially, we were on the fence about sending an email like this...asking our friends, family, and community to help support us and our staff when so many have been impacted by COVID-19 and Shelter in Place orders. But in the last few weeks, we’ve seen the outpouring of generosity and can see how much those that are able to help are willing to help. Many of you have even reached out to ask how you can help. We would like to invite our community to come together and help us provide our employees with any support we can, especially until the Government stimulus package and unemployment benefits get to them. We are humbly asking for our friends from “the shop” to help us make this happen through this Go-Fund-Me campaign where the money raised will go directly to our staff, who make our family-run business possible.
To be honest, any donation will be helpful, no matter the denomination. Think of it as an extra tip. In these ever-changing times, every little bit helps. We THANK YOU in advance with tears of gratitude, determination, and optimism for each donation!
We have no idea how long this pandemic will go on (in CA we will seemingly remain in the same lock-down position for another month minimum), but we remain positive that our community will get through this together. We thank you for your continued support and are so grateful for all of the memories we've shared with you.
We can not wait to be elbow-to-elbow and shoulder-to-shoulder with you again, cheering for our favorite teams or just catching up with old friends over a pint and a sandwich. We sincerely hope for the best to you and yours in this trying time.
