We are writing this because unfortunately Gio's cancer has returned.
The oncologist say its stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma. He has two tumors currently.
One is in his chest behind his heart. It's about 3 inches big. The other is just below my diaphragm.
The doctors say he'll need chemo and of course like many Americans he finds himself without any insurance.
He doesn't qualify for special programs because he's too old for clinical trials. Ewings is a pediatric cancer and those clinics focus mainly on younger kids and teens.
He also doesn't qualify for medicaid because apparently makes quote
"too much money"
Every round of chemo will take 5 days and then 2 weeks of "rest".
Then we continue to the next round.
During rest periods Gio plans on doing everything he can to get back to work at CBS 7 doing what he loves and earning what he can for his treatments.
Every round is $2,000. Not including any special test.
Gio's fought hard in his short time here on earth and he plans to continue the fight.
Although he can't do it alone without the financial support of those who love and support him.
We are asking if you can give anything to help give Gio a fight chance against this incredibly rare cancer.
