As many of you don’t know, I have a kitty named Ginger. She came into my life when I started living on my own, at a time when I was still struggling a lot with my mental health, especially with missing my dad, who passed away a year ago. Ginger quickly became my comfort and my emotional support. Having her with me has truly been a blessing, she keeps me grounded, gives me company, and has helped me heal in ways I didn’t expect. After coming home from the shelter, I decided to take her to the vet for a wellness check and the news that the vet delivered was so scary, ginger needs surgery to remove several bladder stones that are causing her pain and could become life-threatening if untreated. Unfortunately, her pet insurance won’t cover it at all. It was completely unexpected so our emergency fund can’t cover it all, and even though I’ve always been responsible with her care and expenses, this is something I just can’t afford alone right now as a college student who works part time and lives alone. I know pets come with costs, but this situation is totally different from her regular vet/ daily needs, I just want her to get better.
Her surgery and meds cost is $3500. Her surgery is scheduled for October 22. Any help, even just sharing, would mean so much to me. I love Ginger more than words can explain, and I just want to see her healthy and happy again. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read and support us.
