Hello everyone!

As most of you know, our purple-loving, knitting-expert, Ginger, had a small, non-healing ulcer on her tongue that was diagnosed as Stage 1 Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma. They performed a biopsy on April 7th which did not effectively remove the cancer so she had to have a partial glossectomy on April 28th. (Note: A glossectomy is a surgical procedure to remove part or all of the tongue, often performed to treat malignant or potentially malignant lesions in the oral cavity.)

Finally after two weeks after the surgery, she got the amazing news that the glossectomy effectively removed all the cancer and she will be watched carefully for the next few years. The healing has been challenging with lots of swelling and discomfort but thankfully she's on the road to full recovery.

Despite this incredibly positive news, Ginger and her family are now facing the unfortunate reality that the surgeries are not fully covered by insurance. To help lighten this debt burden, we are looking to Ginger's community to make a donation towards these bills to help support this time of need.
