Hi, my name is Kellie, and I’m organizing this fundraiser to support my stepbrother David and his family after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife, Gina.
For those who know me, you know I wouldn’t be asking unless it was truly needed. I’m doing this because the family is going through so much, and the financial stress added on top of their grief is simply too much.
Gina passed away unexpectedly on August 6th at just 58 years old. Her absence has left a deep ache in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her, especially David, her children Biancia, Barry, Tabatha, Vanessa, and her cherished grandchildren, Charles and Camilla.
Gina was the kind of person who made you feel seen. Thoughtful, funny, and endlessly generous, she gave love freely and made everyone feel like family. Her absence is felt in every corner, and her memory lives on in the lives she touched.
This year has brought unimaginable pain to Gina’s family. In March, Gina’s son Joey passed away—a heartbreak no mother should ever have to endure. Her grief was profound, and now, just months later, she will join Joey in heaven. The weight of this loss is almost too much to bear.
This fundraiser is being organized to help ease the financial burden of Gina’s funeral, which is estimated at $6,000. Her passing was unexpected, and without life insurance, her family is now facing not only overwhelming grief but also urgent financial stress.
Even before this tragedy, David and Gina were doing their best to make ends meet while raising a family of six. Like so many, they faced ongoing financial struggles, stretching every dollar to provide, stability, and care for their children and grandchildren. Now, with Gina gone, the challenges have multiplied.
Your support will help:
• Cover Gina’s funeral expenses so her family can honor her with the dignity she deserves
• Give David time to grieve without the immediate pressure of returning to work
• Assist the family as they navigate housing uncertainty after being asked to leave the home they rented with Gina.
Life is fragile. It can change in an instant, and none of us are promised tomorrow. Take the photos, even when you don’t feel like it. Say the words, even if they feel awkward. Hug your people tight. Because one day, those memories may be all that remain.
We don’t often talk about death until it’s at our doorstep. But when it comes, it leaves behind more than grief,it leaves questions, responsibilities, and a silence that’s hard to fill. Gina’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly everything can shift, and how deeply we need one another in those moments.
I’ve started this fundraiser because Gina's family is now facing an incredibly difficult time. They’re overwhelmed with grief and uncertainty and could truly use our support. Whether it’s through a donation, sharing this page, or simply keeping them in your thoughts, any gesture of kindness lets them know they’re not facing this alone. And in moments like these, that kind of compassion can mean everything.
Thank you for being here, for reading, for caring. Your compassion means more than you know.
Kellie
XOXO
