Help Gina Heal from Breast Cancer
Donation protected

Hello!
My name is Gina and I am 31 years young; I love running marathons, hiking, road and mountain biking, wake surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, downhill skiing, the gym, camping... I'm sure you get the picture. I got engaged to the love of my life on February 4, 2018, and we have been planning our wedding for January 2019 (on my parent's 38th wedding anniversary).
My fiance, family, friends and myself couldn't have been more shocked when I was diagnosed with Stage 2, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the Breast (with Positive Lymph Nodes) in April 2018.
I spent three weeks at Optimum Health Institute (OHI) in CA right after my diagnosis. They provided me with tools to help my body naturally regain it's strength so it can do what it was made to do; heal itself. I consumed a 100% certified organic, raw, vegan diet with no sugar, oils or nuts for my entire stay here. The purpose of this is to restore the body to analkaline state (cancer can't live in a oxygen environment). I also drank wheat-grass every day, completed 3 colonics/ hydrotherapy a week, took 3 classes a day on ways to heal the mind, body, and spirit. Costs were $4,800 (for 3 weeks) and thankfully I was able to secure a scholarship for part of my stay.
For those of you unfamiliar with Naturopathic Medicine, it emphasizes the body's natural healing capacity and getting one to a state of optimal health. The focus is on identifying and treating the cause of disease (by removing obstacles/ imbalances) and prevention; as opposed to suppressing symptoms (western/allopathic medicine). My genetic tests showed that this was not inherited. It is my belief that we should ALL be evaluating our diet, lifestyle, exercise habits and stress if we truly want to live a healthy, long and enjoyable life.
I choose to take responsibility for my health and am devoted to nourishing my body with as many vitamins, minerals, organic and natural earth foods as I can, along with other holistic treatments to support my body. I am working with an experienced naturopathic doctor (Dr. Dickson Thom) that REALLY listens to his patients and has created a personalized protocol for me that includes diet, supplements, lifestyle, personal care as well as several IVtreatments and other therapies. Unfortunately, ALL of this is 100% out of pocket.
In July 2018, I was informed the tumors had grown much faster than we had expected. Since then, I have found an incredible team of doctors and surgeons (Dr. Kato, Dr. Liu & Dr. Prichard) that are working together to make sure I get the best care. I will be having a mastectomy by mid September (exact date is pending). I have been told by many that it is a long road to recovery; that being said, I intend to travel this journey with a positive attitude and counting my blessings every single day.
I will heal from this, but I NEED YOUR HELP with the financial side of this cancer diagnosis.
For the next year, I will continue undergoing supervised non-invasive cancer treatments to strengthen my immune system, as well as taking estrogen blockers, suppressing my ovaries, a mastectomy, radiation and reconstructive surgery.
The current costs for all the recommended therapy, treatment and supplements is $4,880 per month. We met the $6,000 insurance deductible by May 2018, however are still responsible for 20% of all diagnostics and treatment fees, which adds up VERY fast. I have incurred medical bills and expenses totaling $18,000 (and counting) in the past 5 months and I haven't even started the surgical process yet.
NO one offers a guaranteed solution to cancer, and NO doctor promises a cure. However, with the wealth of information online and fantastic support groups available I have gathered the courage to take this path. I'm confident in this decision and so grateful to have the support of family and friends.
How can You help:
Anything that you cancontribute is GREATLY appreciated; your money will be helping me heal my body and restore my health. I intend to live a long, healthy and joyous life helping others, and making a difference.
Please help me focus on healing instead of how I am going to afford treatment.
Thank you!
