Dear friends in the Dharma,

I'm raising money to go on the Ordination retreat in Spring 2026!

Most people are saying 'about time'! And yes, I took the scenic route, eh! :)

It's been a beautiful, challenging, and growthful adventure of deepening my connection to the Three Jewels since that intro to Buddhism course at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre 12 years ago (shout out to my first teacher Sagaraghosha!)

The hope is to head up the mountain in Spain at the start of April alongside 18 - 20 others who have been practicing in the women's wing of Triratna. We'd have 3 months in the magical realm that is Akashavana, in the middle of which the Ordination ceremonies would take place.

I just need some money to make it possible!

The retreat costs almost £4000, plus there's travel and retreat costs for my dear preceptor Singhashri as well as my own travel. To keep that cost down I'm taking the not-so-comfortable Flixbus for most of my journey, but it's still going to add up! I think it'll total at least £4800.

I'll use my savings on this, but they are quite modest (you're more likely to catch me giving to GoFundMe's than wisely keeping money safe for a future me, or a future thing!). Karuna will help with my salary while I'm gone, which will cover my monthly outgoings and a bit more, and I'm so grateful for that. But these wouldn't quite cover the retreat. So I'm hoping to raise £3500 here, with the help of your generosity. That will mean I have money for the retreat in time and also land back into financial stability, which would be such a relief.
