Everyone who has met Gina Sopp knows what light she brings to the world. Her sense of humor and laughter encourages you to laugh with her while her caring heart touches all who meet her. Now the one who is always there with a helping hand needs our help.
After returning to school at the age of 60 to become a medical assistant and carrying a 4.0, our wonderful Gina was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in November. Terry, her loving husband, has been with her every step of the way as the doctors battled to get her pain and nausea under control through multiple hospital stays. She's now stabilized enough that she has begun her chemo treatments. Terry is their only breadwinner, though, and as much as he wants to be there to take care of her after her treatments, he has to work so they have income coming in. He is a car salesman who works strictly on commission. As it is, they are struggling financially due to the amount of time Terry has taken off in order to be with Gina during her multiple hospital stays, doctors' appointments, and chemo treatments.
The money donated will be used to provide care for Gina on the days she needs to have someone stay with her when Terry has to be at work, particularly on the days after her chemo treatments. Due to the heavy pain and anti-nausea medications she is on, and because Gina has reacted badly to some of her treatments, she can't be left alone for several days after her treatments. Care of this type is not covered by insurance and runs $200 a day or more. It will also be used to provide them with a little extra financial help when Terry takes off work to go to Gina's appointments with her.
Please consider helping Gina and Terry as they fight their battle against this horrid disease. Thank you for any support you can give!
