As we all know no one fights alone in Cancer. I am asking for help for a dear friend since we were born thanks to our loving parents Gina Remington Adkins. She was born and raised in Superior and lost her loving mother to breast cancer when we were 12. Gina now is having to battle her ow Stage 2b or 3 triple negative metastatic breast cancer. She also has the BRCA1 mutation. This is a very aggressive cancer. Her and her husband Barry were laid off at the beginning of COVID and she missed her mammogram. Well we all know how hard not making money that you are used to or having the health insurance to care for yourself the mammogram was the last thing on her mind. Finally they were able to get back to work recently and have health insurance again and that was the first thing she had done. She had felt a lump and went in right away. The Essentia clinic in North Dakota have been amazing and so caring as majority of this Gina has had to do on her own due to COVID restrictions. She is a brave woman! She is always caring and willing to help others. She has a large out of pocket deductible on top of copays. She will be doing 20 rounds of chemo to start. This chemo is the big guns and is brutal. She lost her hair after one session. After this 20 rounds she will reassess with her team and do double mastectomy. After that they will complete radiation and potential for additional chemo. Gina would never ask for help and hasnt but I talk to her daily and hear the struggle. I want her to be able to focus on kicking cancers ass and not worrying about the medical bills, rent, food, etc. She knows with her family history she has a battle to fight and is so positive and has faith in god that he will help her. Please be gods guiding hope for her and lets hit this mark so she dont have to worry about anything but this battle. Gina's children and husband have been an amazing support to her every day needs. With gentleness and kindness like no other which is amazing. But we know in Superior we take care of our own so lets show her your love.
