Gina Needs Our Help Because Glioblastoma Sucks
Donation protected
Gina Giusto has been on a two-year journey living with, coping with, and fighting against Glioblastoma, a particularly nasty and aggressive form of terminal brain cancer. Friends have stepped up to support her before. I am hoping you will consider doing so again. She has not been able to work in two years. In the face of ongoing treatments and mounting expenses, she has had to sell off her car. Gina needs to maintain her insurance and home, get medications, and, you know, eat and pay bills. I will let her update you in her own words. As with previous generous donors, your gift is much and deeply appreciated.
"As many of you know, I’ve been battling 4 grade Glioblastoma, (terminal brain cancer) since August 2022. I have undergone a rigorous treatment regimen of major four craniotomies, two separate rounds of radiation, ongoing chemotherapy, and weekly immunotherapy infusions. I also maintain daily medications for epilepsy, and guzzle down a huge bag of supplements that keep me going.
Currently I am under the state health insurance plan which I pay for, a hefty amount due monthly. I also face constant medical expenses and general living utilities that also come with great difficulty and strain. I have sold a few personal assets and I receive a security disability benefit, but both just aren't enough. Lastly, I find it impossible to work due to my stunted, laborious speech. This is a challenge as I search and I can’t express words that lock down deep in my brain. Frustrating as heck. An example: this letter took me a week to write up, when it used to take minutes. Sigh.
So friends, I am humbly reaching out to you, with any financial support you can consider, either a lot or a little. Regardless, I am deeply grateful to be able to call you my friend. Thank you for standing beside me as my devoted cheerleader."
