Our dad was a kind, funny and strong humanitarian. When you were around his presence, the energy was positive and inspiring. He loved hiking and being outside in nature. Every Sunday he would make it "family day". This tradition started with his daughters and continued to all 6 of his grandsons. Creating an adventure with grandpa was memories that will be cherished forever. If you knew him, you knew that his laughter was captivating. His heartwarming smile and loving spirit was exactly what you needed to brighten any day. He lived a spiritual life, practiced positivity and lived a nonjudgmental lifestyle. Our mom and dad shared a beautiful loving life for 35 years. The love that he shared with her was so selfless. One of her favorite memories was when he would bring "cafecito" to her every morning hot and seasoned to perfection.  This was just one of many examples of how he would put others before himself, practicing an ego-free life.

He had a passion for cars and a dream of owning his own business one day. September of 2000, he and our mom, Jackie, opened for business "Gilson's Auto Body Shop" and his dream became a reality. Our dad believed in making the shop feel like home. Besides his family, Gilson's Auto Body Shop was his pride and joy! He was a hard working man and dedicated to what he loved. Building the family business into a place of comfort for customers, employees and the community was a necessity.  He believed in creating an impact on anyone who approached him, from mentoring to simply having a shoulder to lean on. Our dad was not only humble but a powerful leader. We believe that everyone who has loved him or met him can agree he will forever be missed and no words could ever sum up the incredible man he was!

Our dad became sick with Covid-19 one week before Christmas 2020. He stayed strong for everyone else around this time and continued to try and make sure it was a great Christmas for both our family and his grandkids. Unfortunately, the day after Christmas, his condition worsened and he was hospitalized. He was placed on a ventilator in the ICU 2 days after arriving at the hospital. He gave a strong fight, but unfortunately passed away on January 07, 2021. Covid-19 stole our fathers life at the young age of 54.

Our mom, along with his 4 daughters, 6 grandsons and son in law will continue to watch for his guiding light at Gilson's Auto Body Shop. Our priority will be to make Gilson's Auto Body Shop stay one of many legacies he will leave behind!

In the effort to allow our mom and family time to grieve, we are kindly and respectfully asking for your support. All donations will apply to one months rent for Gilson's Auto Body Shop and any expenses my mom will need over the next few months.

Please take a silent moment to listen to the song below. This was my dad's favorite song and the message we know he would want everyone to receive. He encouraged all his daughters and grandsons to learn the lyrics and live by the meaning.
