Gillis Family loses everything in house fire

On the morning of January 20th, a fire quickly tore through the Gillis family home on Kyle Road in Corbeil and despite multiple fire departments efforts on one of the coldest days of the year, they were unable to save it. As a result, Kristen, Adam and their two young children, Colton (4) and Ava (7), and their gentle giant of a dog, Summit, no longer have a home to return to and have lost all of their belongings.

While they have refuge with friends for a period of time until they find their footing, they are very quickly incurring significant expenses. Your support will help to ensure they have the basic necessities to continue to create a sense of safety and normalcy for their children in such a difficult circumstance and help to alleviate some of the stress of finances during such a time of tragedy and upheaval.

The Gillis family is one of the kindest, most compassionate and generous families I have the honor of knowing and calling friends who have become family. While many of us cannot imagine the trauma that is associated with having to watch as your memories and belongings burn right before your eyes, as a community, we can most certainly soften the experience by showing up for this young family and reminding them that they are not alone on this really difficult journey.
