Growing up in Bethesda I frequently drove by The Children's Inn at NIH. My brother and I always admired how friendly and welcoming it looked, but I never realized how important it is to some families. For those of you who aren't familiar, the Children's Inn provides a home for families with children that are receiving treatment at the National Institutes of Health. For my Bat Mitzvah project I decided to raise money for the Children's Inn at NIH because I wanted to support an organization that helps provide a home away from home for the families of children who are already dealing with so much.
Even though we are dealing with the Corona virus, the work of the Inn goes on, as children from all over the world continue to come to NIH to receive life-saving treatments. I can't imagine what it would be like for these families to go through this without being able to have the benefit of a "home" on site. I am thankful for the important role that it plays for so many families. I hope that you can donate to this amazing place!
