Four years ago, Gill's first destination imagination teams were formed. Now, unexpectedly, one of our 6th grade teams competed On April 2nd at the State Finals at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has earned a spot to represent the state of Massachusetts at the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Knoxville, TN in May. This is a very exciting, but unexpected once in a life time experience. The only obsticle in this teams way, is the substantial costs that need to be covered to make this a reality.
This team competed in a challenge in which they needed to build 2 or more structure made entirly of Balsa Wood and glue that would hold has much weight as possible. The also needed to present a team created story in which two characters from different nations work together to solve an international issue.
The teams solution included two cyber security experts from the US and France fighting a hacker online trying to gain access to the US nucular missles. The teams structure held 535lbs and still did not fail.

The creativity and effort these kids have shown makes them incredibly worthy of this opportunity to compete against the top scoring teams in every state and over 15 countries around the globe. Without the support of our family, friends and community, we may not have the resources to attend this global celebration of creativity.
Thank you to all who consider being a part of this experience that these kids will remember for the rest of their lives.
