Gilbeys memorial fund

"Gilbey, where do we start little brother....
You have left a hole that can never be filled. We are all still waiting for you to waltz on in with your big grin and infectious laugh, it seems surreal that this will never be the case. You were the purest meaning of what a good soul is and we could all learn from your ability to make anyone and everyone feel warm and welcome.
Gilbey you brought so much happiness and love to all that have had the honour of being your family and friends and yes, this is going to be unbearably hard for us all but we will look after each other as you would do if you were here with us.
We shall try our best not to weep because you are gone, but to smile because you were here"
That final sentence is easier said than done as I sit here sobbing while I try and write this but we need to remember the greatness that was our little brother Gilbey and this is why we have set up this Memorial fund for Gilbs.
We have been inundated with messages of support and offers from people wanting to help in some way and we hope this memorial fund will help everyone feel involved in keeping his memory alive.
In what way will this Memorial fund be spent? We are not yet sure ourselves but I am sure that the community of Lynton and Lynmouth and all his friends from far and wide would want to do something that can remind us of our dear son, brother, and friend Gilbey and whatever this is we would like it to benefit the people of lynton and lynmouth... all ideas are welcome although we are sure some will be more suitable than others, I personally am quite keen on a statue of him holding a giant pasty above his head like an atlas stone..... but as we said some ideas will be better than others.
If you ever feel you need to smile then please just imagine you can hear his big old belly laugh....
Whatever is donated large or small, we thank you for x
