With a heavy heart, I share with you that we lost a father, husband, son, cousin, and loving friend early this morning. Gilbert lost a difficult battle over the past few weeks to illness.

It is with great sadness that our Family had to say goodbye today to this iron-willed, funny, loving father! As much as our Family is hurting, we have gained a guardian angel. It is never easy to say goodbye. While we know he is resting in peace and his struggles are ending, there is pain and sadness. But even though he is gone, he has left the legacy of his love and perseverance in his two sons, Gilbert and Edward. God knows these past few years were difficult for him and his son, but we ask you to keep his memory alive by sharing stories with us.

Friends/Family: many of you have extended offers of support to the Venegas family. We are setting up this Gofundme account to help with anything they need.

Con gran dolor en el corazón, comparto con ustedes que perdimos a un padre, esposo, hijo, primo y querido amigo esta mañana. Gilberto perdió una difícil batalla debido a enfermedad.

¡Es con gran tristeza que nuestra Familia se despide hoy de este padre amoroso! Por mucho que nuestra Familia esté sufriendo, hemos ganado un ángel de guarda. Nunca es fácil decir adiós. Sabemos que descansa en paz y sus luchas han terminando. Gilberto ha dejado el legado de su amor y perseverancia en sus dos hijos, Gilberto y Edward. Dios sabe que estos últimos años fueron difíciles para él y su Familia. Les pedimos que mantenga viva su memoria compartiendo historias con nosotros.
